Origin of UBU Spark
A science park is a fundamental structure in science, technology, and innovation, crucial for driving the country's development. The primary goal is to build an economy based on technology and innovation, achieved through mechanisms that promote research and development in the private sector. This involves fostering new entrepreneurs and technologies into the economic system, serving as a central hub for research and development, technology transfer, and linking various sectors, including industry, government, education, and local communities. Utilizing knowledge from both within and outside the university contributes to enhancing competitiveness in business and industry through science, technology, and innovation. Accompanied by skilled personnel in various fields, this helps elevate production capabilities, add value, and improve standards for products and industries, directly impacting regional economic development. This forms the foundation for the country's development by creating jobs, generating income for regions, and sustainably enhancing the quality of life for the population. The establishment of science parks in regions is a strategic approach for spreading prosperity to local areas using science and technology as catalysts, promoting economic structural adjustments in communities. The Cabinet approved the country's science park development strategy and the establishment of regional science park projects on May 29, 2012, with funding allocated by the Ministry of Science and Technology at that time, now transformed into the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation.
